Two Four-Star Prospects Sign with Men’s Basketball


TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Men’s Basketball signed a pair of four-star prospects that will join the roster for the 2023-24 season.

Guard Braelon Green and Forward Akil Watson make up the 2023 signing class as Head Coach Bobby Hurley continues to bring in talent to the program. The duoΒ received a four-star rating and were tabbed as Top-100 prospects by at least one major national recruiting publication. Every one of Hurley’s signing classΒ has included a four-star prospect. According to 247 Sports, of the Top-25 highest-rated recruits to sign with Arizona State since 2000 (22 years), 15 have come under Hurley in the past seven classes.

“Akil and Braelon are both just quality kids and at one point super highly rated,” Coach Hurley reflected. “I think both will have a chip on the shoulder getting here. Both have great families, so that’s a positive and they just bring different things to the table. Akil’s a versatile forward and BraelonΒ could play multiple positions in the guard spot, so we’re super excited for those two guys.”
