After a dominant outing vs. Jackson State, the UNC women’s basketball team returns to action this weekend, when TCU visits Chapel Hill
The 12-ranked Tar Heels jumped on the Tigers early and never looked back, leading by 41 at one point.
This Saturday, North Carolina will have the opportunity to continue its dominance and start off the season 2-0.
Key To Victory
The key for UNC is to do the small things and to stay disciplined.
North Carolina did two things very well in their last outing. The Tar Heels were able to dominate on the boards and did an exceptional job sharing the ball and dishing racking up assists.
Against this struggling TCU team, the key to victory remains the same. If North Carolina can win the rebound battle and continue to share the ball at a high level, they will do just fine.
The Tar Heels should look to stay disciplined defensively and limit fouling as well, as TCU was able to get to the line 29 times in their previous game.
Something to Watch
In last Wednesday’s season opener, Deja Kelly went down with an ankle injury and did not finish the game. While the injury doesn’t seem to be severe, she could be limited in Saturday’s contest.
If that is the case, expect freshman Paulina Paris to receive a larger role. In her first game as a Tar Heel, Paris impressed scoring 13 points and dishing out 4 assists.
