More lineup notes as games get back going today.

Philadelphia 76ers

Monday’s win over Phoenix was a good sign for Philly without James Harden. After a slow start from pretty much everyone on the team but Tyrese Maxey, this group is gonna need to keep playing well to make up ground (5-6 record).

Phoenix Suns

New Suns Jock Landale & Damion Lee are making a nice impact as versatile role players. The former San Antonio big man is averaging 8.3 PPG/4.4 RPG/1.0 APG/0.9 BPG/50.8% FG/80.0% FT and the 2022 NBA champion (Golden State) has tallied 6.6 PPG/2.7 RPG/1.1 APG/40.8% FG/46.7% 3-PT/85.7% FT.

Sacramento Kings

Unfortunately for Sacramento’s KZ Okpala, he quickly fell out of the rotation after being a starter for 3 games. Rookie Keegan Murray is now in the starting lineup while Okpala faces more uncertainty with his career following being traded from the Heat to Thunder and then waived. Also keep an eye on veteran center Richaun Holmes. The 29 year old is averaging a career low in minutes this season (12.8 MPG).

Washington Wizards

I was a big fan of Jordan Goodwin when he first joined the Wizards for training camp in 2021, as his scoring ability and toughness stood out right away. The 6-3 shooting guard grinded it out last season in the G-League and is a part of Washington’s roster for good this time. Goodwin put up 13.0 PPG/6.0 RPG/5.0 APG/1.0 SPG/1.5 BPG/78.6% FG/40.0% 3-PT/100.0% FT during his two games, looking like that spark the club has been missing early on.

Portland Trail Blazers

It’s great to see Justise Winslow & Drew Eubanks finding roles/Shaedon Sharpe adjusting well to the NBA. Winslow has fit in perfectly with the Blazers since getting traded from the Clippers, Eubanks re-signed with Portland over the summer after earning a spot following getting traded from San Antonio and waived by Toronto, and Sharpe faced many questions because he didn’t play college basketball/since high school.

Houston Rockets

Yearly trade candidate Eric Gordon continues to shoot the ball well from deep for Houston. The soon-to-be 34 year old is shooting 41.0% behind the three point line during the last two seasons.

Indiana Pacers

I’m glad Aaron Nesmith is getting a fresh start in Indiana. The potential was there when he was selected 14th overall by the Celtics in 2020, but never could find playing time on a deep Boston roster. Hopefully the 3&D forward can stay in the rotation throughout the year (career high 21.8 MPG).
