The Bulldog Men’s & Women’s basketball teams rocked Smith Hammond Middleton Memorial Center on Monday night to tip off the 2022-23 season in style. Fans were treated to 3-point, free-throw and slam dunk competitions from the players, as well as a dance-off between the two teams. SC State students competed in half-court shots, and kids in the audience got in on the act with a jersey dress-up race/jump shot competition.

The crowd also heard from men’s Head Coach Erik Martin and women’s Head Coach Timothy Eatman about the drive for the season.

The 2022-23 season is here. The men’s team will host an exhibition game against West Virginia Tech tonight (Tuesday, Nov. 1), in SHM, before beginning official play Nov. 8 with a road trip to Columbia to face the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

The women’s team will begin the season at East Carolina University in Greeneville, North Carolina on Nov. 7.
