COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball team continues its homestand to open the season with a matchup today against Brescia (Ky.). Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
The Blue Raiders (1-0) enter the contest after handily defeating Union (Ky.) 74-49 in the opening game of the season. Sydnie Hall was tied for leading all scorers with 12 points, while Amelia Hodges sat one point behind with 11 also dishing four assists. Maleigha Oldham had proficient on-ball defense totaling four steals in the contest, contributing to the 18 total steals for the Blue Raiders. Carla Moreno led all rebounders netting 13, helping Lindsey Wilson outrebound Union 49-36.
The Bearcats (0-1) enter the contest after dropping their opening game of the season to Simmons (Ky.) 55-67. Brescia has not beaten Lindsey Wilson in over 15 years.
This will be the 50th meeting between these two programs with Lindsey Wilson leading the all-time series 34-15. The Blue Raiders are 18-6 at home against the Bearcats
