Expectations for Texas basketball this year and more

The Texas Longhorns are nearing the beginning of the college basketball season. The season is set to tip off officially against the UTEP Miners on November 7.

The Longhorns have a tough nonconference slate this season. The first premier matchup pits No. 12 Texas against No. 2 Gonzaga in the Longhorns’ new home, the Moody Center.

Chris Beard’s team will face No. 9 Creighton and No. 11 Tennessee as well in nonconference play.

The Longhorns will look to follow their first NCAA Tournament victory since 2014 with more tournament success. They will have plenty of veteran players to help them get there.

Timmy Allen, Christian Bishop and Marcus Carr lead the group of returning players coming back with plenty to prove.

Let’s preview the 2022 basketball season.
