As it was expected, Kemba Walker has been waived by the Pistons before playing a single game for the team. The 32-year-old point guard had one year left on his contract and was set to earn $27.4 million this season.
He now becomes an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team. Walker, a four-time NBA All-Star, expressed his desire to get a playing opportunity in the league.
It was reported previously that there isn’t much of an interest in him from the teams in the NBA. Last season he averaged 11.6 points, 3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 25.6 minutes per game – his lowest numbers in his NBA career – for the Knicks.
