The Philadelphia 76ers were able to knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday 113-97 on the road to improve to 3-0 in the preseason and it was due to another big performance by Tyrese Maxey. The third-year guard scored 15 points in the first quarter on his way to 19 for the night in 25 minutes of play.
This is the third consecutive game to begin the preseason where Maxey has been a big spark on the offensive end. He scored 20 points in the preseason opener and then scored 21 points in the second preseason game before he shot 3-for-3 from deep in the first quarter and setting a tone for Philadelphia.
As Maxey continues to grow as an offensive player, it appears that he can at least be in the conversation for being an All-Star in 2023. There will be a lot of competition, but his talent has been undeniable.
NBA Twitter gave their reactions to Maxey’s performance on Monday night:
Tyrese Maxey doing it again
17 points in first half tonight.
Crushing preseasonTyrese and Jalen Hurts both keep making big improvements. Both are sons of coaches. Learned hard work and accountability at a young age.

Sixers should have a lot of success if Tyrese Maxey averages over 20 points a half.

Tyrese Maxey has three 3s in less than three minutes. He’s good at basketball.
