‘I would love to bring a team’ to Las Vegas

Skip Bayless says he’s optimistic about Lakers this season

One of the unique things about NBA preseason basketball is the fact that teams play at venues they never play at during regular season or postseason play.

For the Los Angeles Lakers, one of those venues has always been Las Vegas, as was the case on Wednesday when they faced off against the Phoenix Suns.

Given that Las Vegas is roughly only 300 miles away from Los Angeles, there are plenty of Lakers fans in Sin City, and they certainly got their fix on Wednesday.

But if LeBron James gets his way, those fans would get to watch NBA basketball on a regular basis.

Following Wednesday’s contest, he said he would like to land a team in Las Vegas.

This isn’t the first time James has talked about this ambition of his, as he stated it during an episode of “The Shop” a few months ago.

Commissioner Adam Silver said the league has no current plans to expand. However, some think a team in Las Vegas, as well as Seattle, could happen in the future.

James is well-known for planning his next moves on and off the court well in advance, and his desire to own an NBA team in Las Vegas could be just another example of that.
