In light of the ongoing questioning regarding his contract extension status with the Miami Heat, Tyler Herro posted a shady Instagram story this Sunday.

The story may strongly suggest the microwave guard’s sentiments with regards to his value as a player who is eligible to accept a rookie scale extension.

It was revealed last month by Ira Winderman of South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the Heat are showing “no urgency” to complete a deal with Herro. The club may offer a max rookie extension worth $188 million in five years before the start of the 2022-2023 season. Meanwhile, if there’s no transaction of extended partnership from both sides, Herro will turn into a restricted free-agent next offseason.

Herro has been part of trade chatter from the previous weeks, often being rumored to be packaged by Miami for either Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell.

But with both players now facing a new resolution on their part, as Durant chose to remain in the Brooklyn Nets while Mitchell was transferred by the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers, it remains a mystery now on how the Heat brass will address their current case and look at their long-term picture with Herro.

Herro is coming off a solid season which earned him Sixth Man of the Year honors. He comes up averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 66 games while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 39.9 percent from three-point land.
