Banton Earns Spot on FIBA Americup 2022 All-Tournament Team


Former University of Nebraska guard Dalano Banton earned a spot on the FIBA Americup 2022 All-Tournament team after helping Canada to a fourth-place finish in the event over the weekend.

Banton, who was a rookie with the Toronto Raptors in 2021-22, earned a spot on the five-member team after averaging 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in Canada’s six contests. He finished fifth among all players in scoring and ninth in assists. Banton reached double figures in five of Canada’s six contest, including a 20-point, 11-rebound effort against Brazil.

A second-round draft pick in 2021, Banton played in 64 games as a rookie for the Raptors, averaging 3.2 points and 1.5 assists per game.

Banton was one of three current or former Huskers who made their national team debut this summer, joining Jack McVeigh (Australia) and Keisei Tominaga (Japan).
