The Golden State Warriors are set to make a move to determine if Andre Iguodala will return to play or not for the 17th time in his career.

As told by head coach Steve Kerr on his guesting on Damon & Ratto, they will ‘touch base in the next couple days’ on Iguodala’s side, but they’ll respect what will be the upcoming decision of the franchise star.

“We’ll touch base in the next couple days,” Kerr stated. “Bob (Myers) and I are giving him the space to make whatever decision he wants. We’ll support him either way, but we hope he comes back.”

It was revealed then by The Athletic’s Shams Charania that there’s no imminent signs yet if Iguodala will either retire or not. His decision will truly be important given that the Dubs have an open roster spot for him in the 2022-2023 season, and the training camp is about to commence this late September.

Iguodala returned to the Bay Area in the 2021 offseason, but unlike the significant sixth man role he fulfilled for them in the past, the veteran settled on a much minor role to mentor the team’s up and coming players last season.

He averaged 4.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.2 boards in 31 games for his first season with Golden State since the 2018-19 campaign. He eventually won his fourth title ring with them in the last NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
