Both Seattle and Las Vegas hoops fans might have to hold their planned celebration for the meantime, as the rumors of NBA expansion remain unclear for now.

According to Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, there is no ‘imminent’ expansion scheme happening yet on the side of the league.

It disputes the now-deleted Twitter report of Willie G Ramirez of the Associated Press, noting that ‘multiple sources’ have relayed that the NBA is preparing to announce their intention to expand their market in both mentioned cities which would occur at one of the Los Angeles Clippers’ two preseason games within Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

The probable expansion of the NBA has been a hot topic of discussion in the sports world, given that their national television deal is set to end at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 campaign.

Seattle, a basketball place, had a long history with the association due to SuperSonics’ existence from near half a century. The club relocated to Oklahoma City at the start of the 2007-2008 season.

On the other hand, the “Entertainment Capital of the World” in Vegas is attractive enough to invest in for a basketball franchise and lure locals for viewership because of its big market tendencies.

It was already dismissed last June by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver that the league has no plans to extend from the current 30 participating teams that they have.
