NBA 2K23 announced the overall ratings for the top-five picks in the 2022 NBA draft on Tuesday.
For Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren, the No. 2 pick came in at 77 overall — the third-best rating behind Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr. at 78 overall each.
Now, of course, Holmgren will not play this upcoming season as he recovers from a season-ending foot injury. With that being the case, it’ll be hard to see Holmgren improve his rating at all this entire season. The most likely outcome is that he stays at 77 for the entire lifespan of the game.
Even with that being the case, it’s still surprising to see Holmgren and the other top rookies rated so low. The good news for the other rookies is that they’ll have the entire season to improve their rating.
The game is set to release on Friday, Sept. 10.
