With news that the Boston Celtics have officially signed veteran big man Bruno Caboclo to a deal, the competition in the Celtics’ 2022 training camp to fill backup big man roles for the season ahead is nearly upon us. And in addition to Caboclo, Boston has already signed former first-round Brooklyn Nets draft pick Mfiondu Kabengele to a two way deal, with word out that the team also plans to have Haverill native Noah Vonleh in the camp mix as well.
Add in rumbles we have heard that both returning big men Luke Kornet and Grant Williams will spend some time at the 5 this season with veteran forward Danilo Gallinari also picking up slack at the 4 and maybe even occasionally at center and the picture of who might populate the Celtics’ 2022-23 frontcourt depth gets pretty murky.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast recently got together to discuss that and came away with some ideas of who might see floor time with Boston up front next season.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to see which bigs they think will make the cut.
