Brooklyn Nets bringing back classic ABA-inspired jerseys

Even though the Brooklyn Nets have taken a breath of fresh air following Kevin Durant’s trade rescindment, the organization will look a lot different going forward on the hardwood.

Earlier this week the Nets decided to showcase their new ‘Stars and Stripes’ uniform, which they will don this season. The jerseys are new iterations on the classic ABA-New York Nets look, which the franchise wore for nearly ten years between 1972 and 1981.

Hall-of-Famer Julius Erving wore the classic colors in his tenure with the Nets, leading them to two-Finals championship victories before the ABA merged with the NBA.

“This uniform was immensely popular and has become synonymous with one of the greatest periods in Nets history, and we’re looking forward to seeing its return to the hardwood in front of our fans in Brooklyn this season,”said Andrew Karson, senior vice president of brand marketing, strategy and solutions at BSE Global, parent company of the Nets.
