Timberwolves to see several familiar faces in first week of NBA action

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Utah Jazz will be two NBA teams who are linked for the foreseeable future. After all, the Utah Jazz traded away All-Star NBA center Rudy Gobert, and in return, the Jazz acquired Minnesota Timberwolves Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, rookie Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Leandro Bolmaro.

Six players packed their bags and changed their zip codes. Although the Minnesota Timberwolves sent five players packing, you can bet that some players will get a very warm welcome back from the Minnesota Timberwolves fans.

I’ll bet donuts to dollars that the reception for Patrick Beverley will be a warm one. In fact, I’d be surprised at anything less than a warm reception for each of the team’s former players, including rookie center Walker Kessler.

The big question is, how will the Minnesota Timberwolves play against their former teammates? I’d like to think that the Minnesota Timberwolves will win their second game of the season, and do so with authority.

The Timberwolves host the Jazz on October 21, 2022, at 5:00 pm CT.

Minnesota Timberwolves schedule opens with winnable games

The Timberwolves open the 2022-23 NBA season with a two-game home stand, and the Jazz players are the second team to travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves this season.

While there are many questions over just how well the Timberwolves can play this season, the Utah Jazz has quite a few questions of their own. Complicating the matter further, the team is competing this season with the pieces acquired by divesting from Gobert. That means that the team will be a patchwork quilt this season, and the Timberwolves should be poised and prepared to take full advantage of that disarray in the first week of the NBA season.

The Timberwolves should win their contest against the Jazz, opening the season with a two-game winning streak. Will the team be able to open the season with a winning streak? Perhaps better than you may think. Their opener against the Thunder and the second contest against the Jazz pit the Timberwolves who are rebuilding their rosters for future NBA success.

That should be enough to get the team a pair of quick wins to open the new season.z
