CHINA DOW JOINS IUPUI WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STAFF

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women’s basketball program is one step closer to the 2022-23 season with the addition of assistant coach China Dow. Dow joins the IUPUI staff after previously serving as a high school head coach.

“I’m so thrilled China has joined our staff,” said head coach Kate Bruce. “She was a phenomenal player at Florida Gulf Coast University and has a great understanding of the game of basketball. China will make an immediate impact on the court as she helps implement our offensive and defensive schemes.”

The Louisville, Ky. native previously spent a year as a high school head coach and two years as an assistant coach at Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville, Ky.

Before coaching Dow played at Middle Tennessee State University for two years before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University where she finished out her college career.

While at FGCU, Dow was a two-time ASUN champion and was named ASUN tournament MVP twice. She finished her Division I career with 1,093 points, including 749 in her last two seasons. She was named to the ASUN’s All-Decade team a few years after graduating.

Before college, Dow finished her high school career at the Christian Academy of Louisville as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,403 points. She was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 90 recruit in the nation by ESPN HoopGurlz.

Now with a full staff, the Jaguars are one step closer to tipping off the 2022-23 season.
