Six Celtics crack HoopsHypes top 100 trade targets for 2022-23 list

The Boston Celtics took a stacked roster that came to within two games of the 2022 NBA title and added even more depth to it to jumpstart their 2022 offseason and came away the odds-on favorite to win it all for the 2023 championship as a result of their efforts.

And given all that depth, it should probably not surprise that the Celtics have a total of six players on their roster currently who registered in the top 100 trade target list recently released by our sister site HoopsHype. All but one of Boston’s usual starting five makes the cut, along with two players who will almost certainly spend most of next season coming off of the bench for the Celtics.

Let’s take a look at where each player was rated.

“At the same time, his availability has been poor, and he’s missed time at the worst possible stretches. If he continues to improve and plays in enough games, he could be 20 spots or so higher on this list.”

No. 50 – Marcus Smart

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

“In 2020 there was some discourse if Smart’s trade value was worth the second overall pick in that year’s draft,” claims HoopsHype.

“After a career year where he won Defensive Player of the Year and helped lead the Celtics to the Finals, it wouldn’t be outrageous for a team to offer a high lottery pick for him.”

No. 20 – Jaylen Brown

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

“Brown is one the best…
