Meet the Orange: #12 Cheyenne McEvans


In the latest episode of Meet the Orange, junior Cheyenne McEvans, a junior from Detroit, Mich., discusses her rehab from a season-ending ACL tear last year at Buffalo, who she is outside of basketball, and why fans should come out and support the team this season.

McEvans has been working on in the offseason on rehabbing her knee while taking a leadership role as one of the Syracuse women’s basketball team’s four summer captains.

Prior to joining her former Buffalo head coach Felisha Legette-Jack east on I-90, McEvans was an All-MAC Freshman Team selection in 2021. She appeared in 12 games with 10 starts prior to her season being short with a knee injury. In her UB career, McEvans started in 32 of 34 games and averaged 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. 

Off the court McEvans is a passionate player and great teammate. She values education and enjoys babysitting in her time away from basketball. 

The Meet the Orange miniseries is aimed to introduce fans to the new faces of @CuseWBB and build excitement for Coach Jack’s first season leading her alma mater.
