Tigers to host Georgia State in 2022-23 season

Tigers make top seven for five-star Justin Edwards

Auburn basketball is about to start their season with a trip to Israel, but they are still putting the finishing touches on the rest of their schedule.

On Thursday they announced that Auburn will host Georgia State in Neville Arena on Dec. 14. It is the Tigers 12th nonconference game to be scheduled for the 2022-23 regular season.

The game will come after the Tigers travel to Atlanta to face Memphis in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event on Dec. 10 and before they start their West Coast trip, playing USC on Dec. 18 and Washington on Dec. 21.

Auburn will have four-straight home games to start the season, opening with George Mason on Nov. 7, then USF on Nov. 11, and Winthrop on Nov. 15 before the game against Texas Southern on Nov. 18.

After that stretch, they will head to Cancun, Mexico for a Nov. 22 game against Bradley. That will be followed by a matchup against either Northwestern or Liberty on Nov. 23.

They will then play a home game against Saint Louis on Nov. 27 before heading to Atlanta for the matchup with Memphis. After their game with Georgia State and the trip out West, they have one more nonconference game scheduled, a showdown with West Virginia.

The final scheduled non-conference game is against West Virginia on Jan. 28, when the Tigers will head to Morgantown, West Virginia, to take on the Mountaineers in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

We know who Auburn will play in their 18 conference games, but not when. The Tigers will have home-and-home meetings against Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M next season. They will host Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, and Missouri at Neville Arena, and have road matchups against Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt.
