Did Timberwolves Jaden McDaniels grow an inch?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for growth and development out of the younger players on the roster. When you think about it, an improvement from any one of them will pay huge dividends in the success of this team going forward. But as we have pointed out before, no two players are getting scrutinized on the roster more than power forward Jaden McDaniels and shooting guard Jaylen Nowell.

Nowell is a 23-year-old 6-foot-4 201-pound shooting guard for the Timberwolves who is entering his fourth season in the NBA. While his playing time lessened a bit in the 2021-22 season, his shooting accuracy honed even more sharply. Last season, Nowell shot a solid 47.5 percent from the floor and an eyebrow-raising 39.4 percent from the perimeter. He is projected to break double-digits in his scoring average this year.

His teammate, Jaden McDaniels is a 21-year-old 6-foot-9185-pound small forward who is entering his third NBA season for the Timberwolves. He has been very versatile for the team, as he can defend any position on the basketball court. With the new configuration of the Timberwolves roster, McDaniels is projected to start at the small forward position. In a starting role, his minutes per game and his production should see a nice amount of growth.

But Canis Hoopis smirkingly reported that Jaden McDaniels has grown an inch, a toss-out to Skor North’s Kyle Theige, a solid reporter who covers the Minnesota Timberwolves and absolutely loves Jaden Mcdaniels’ fit on this team.

Whether or not McDaniels is now 6-foot-9, 6-foot-10, or has broken the 7-foot-0 barrier is actually not the point.

McDaniels, despite being called out by Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, is bursting with confidence. The team has arguably one of, if not, the best starting lineups in the history of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise. And the current starting lineup projects McDaniels at the 3.

I don’t think this will be similar to the story of how his heart will grow three sizes, like that of the Grinch in Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Rather, I believe his heart was already big enough.

But the NBA will see his stature rise this year.  After all, the secret is out about him already.
