Bristol Flyers have acquired American guard Brandon Mahan from the University of Central Florida.
The 23-year-old has signed his first professional contract with the Flyers and joins the club on a one-year deal.
Mahan made 76 appearances during his three year spell with the Knights and finished as UCF’s all-time free throw percentage leader at 85.6% over his career.
Last season he posted an average of 10.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, shooting 37.9% from the field and 33.3% from behind the three point line.
Speaking on his first professional deal, Mahan said: “It feels great – it’s a blessing to sign my first pro contract.
“Bristol looks like a beautiful city. I’ve heard a lot of great things, so I wanted to come and there and see it for myself.
“Coach told me about the great environment that he’s built at the Flyers, so I definitely wanted to be a part of that.
“He wants me to be a consistent scorer in this league and be a ’3-and-D’ guy on the team.
“It’s going to be my first time coming to the UK, so I’m excited to check out the culture and help the team win some games this season.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas added: “Brandon is a hugely exciting prospect that strengthens our backcourt further.
“His size and athleticism make him a great fit for our league.
“He’s an outstanding shooter, who can score and create off the dribble. He is also a player with plenty of versatility in his game and can contribute in a numerous ways to help our team win games.
“During his college career he has shown that he is always ready to step up in big moments and make plays down the stretch.
“We certainly feel that with Brandon we have a player with great upside and we look forward to working with him.”
