Former player signs extension with EuroLeague team

Former Alabama center Donta Hall signed a three-year contract extension to remain with the AS Monaco Basket of the Euro League, according to a tweet by Eurohoops. The team plays its games in Fontvieille, Monaco.

Hall was once a fan-favorite player for the Crimson Tide in what seems like forever ago. The Alabama faithful truly admired the way that Hall led and the way he performed on the floor in his four years at Alabama. Over the course of four years at the college level, Hall averaged 7.5 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game and an impressive 1.7 blocks per game. He was also consistent around the rim as he shot 66.1% from the field. For his stellar play on the defensive end, Hall was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team in 2018 and 2019.

After going undrafted, Hall was signed to an exhibit-10 contract by the Detroit Pistons in July of 2019. He was later waived in October of 2019. He did stay with the organization as he played for the Grand Rapids Drive. He would go on to average15.4 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. After his stint in the G-League concluded, he bounced around the NBA on 10-day contracts.

Hall played for the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic before joining AS Monaco Basket in August of 2021. Last season, he averaged 8.4 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game and one block per game. While doing so, he has shot a stellar 76.2% from the floor.

After signing a contract extension with the team, Hall will look to improve his talents in Europe for years to come. It will be interesting to see how the native of small-town Luverne, Alabama is able to fair in his second professional season overseas.
