Sun Devils Announce 2022 Hall of Fame & Hall of Distinction Class


TEMPE – Sun Devil Athletics is ready to honor the careers and achievements of nine Arizona State legends in the first Hall of Fame and Hall of Distinction classes since 2019. The inductees will be officially inducted into their respective Halls October 8, 2022 when ASU football hosts Washington at Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field. Seven athletes and two coaches are set to have their careers celebrated.

Arizona State Hall of FameΒ 

The SDA Hall of Fame was established in 1975 to honor the school’s most distinguished student-athletes in all sports. Student-athletes become eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame 10 years after their senior class has graduated. The Hall of Distinction, recognizing outstanding contributions from coaches and administrators, was inaugurated in 1982.

One of the most decorated student-athletes to play for Arizona State in any sport, two-time Super Bowl champion Terrell Suggs was awarded the Bronko Nagurski Trophy for the nation’s top collegiate defensive player and also received the Rotary Lombardi Trophy as the country’s top lineman, the Morris Trophy for the top defensive lineman in the Pac-10, and the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award in his senior season, the first ASU player to win an award on the national level for football.
