Fox Sports analyst and former Buff Joel Klatt sees CU to the Big 12

At this pace, a Buffaloes’ reunion with the Big 12 is becoming more and more hopeful. We’ve seen multiple encouraging reports that, simultaneously, are signaling an even bigger downfall for the Pac-12.

Not many people in college football have a better pulse on the game than Fox Sports Analyst Joel Klatt, who was a Big 12 QB back in the early 2000s for the Colorado. BuffZone’s Brian Howell recently spoke with Klatt and was able to secure some valuable insight into CU’s unique predicament.

Klatt said that Colorado has been “proactive” in dealing with the situation and he predicts the Buffs will probably land in the Big 12. The Pac-12’s Four Corners schools (CU, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State) also have an “urgency” to leave the conference, Klatt believes.

In total, his take on college football’s current climate wasn’t very optimistic for the Pac-12 (h/t BuffZone):

“I think that keeping the Pac-12 afloat is a fool’s errand. Whether it’s the Pac-12 absorbing the Big 12, or the Big 12 absorbing the Pac-12, or the three of them – the ACC, Big 12 and the Pac-12 – making two conferences, it’s going to four, max: Two that are going to rule the whole thing and two that are going to be left behind.”
