With trade offers for Kevin Durant rolling in, there’s rumors that NBA champions Golden State Warriors may be interested in bringing Durant back after playing there just a few years ago.
According to NBA journalist Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reports that Durant, “have been in conversations” with the Warriors superstars, likely Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Thompson suggests that Golden State can piece together one of the most enticing trade offers in the league, but sources say they are “unlikely” to pay the price for the former MVP. The Warriors do have a surplus of young talent but ultimately want to defend their title with their roster.
“This isn’t a case where the Warriors stars are pressing the front office to go acquire Durant. Sources made it clear they are fine defending their title with Wiggins, Poole and the young players they’ve been grooming to win with them. But if the universe somehow sets it up so legends reunite, they’d be open to it.”
