Utah Jazz hire former NBA head coach to the front office

The Utah Jazz have seemingly come to terms with a new head coach, and after plenty of speculation, it seems that won’t be the only addition to the staff for the 2022/23 NBA season. It is being reported that the Jazz are hiring former New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale as Associate General Manager, and while he’s come under plenty of scrutiny from his time in New York, he seemingly has the backing of people in power in Salt Lake City.

In his time as head coach of the Knicks, Fizdale as seen as a massive failure, but not all of that was his fault, as New York were one of, if not the worst run teams in the entire NBA during his tenure there. In David’s career, he has served as an assistant coach to good success, and Utah are hoping that the wealth of experience, alongside Danny Ainge will help this team as they look to move forward after a stretch of increasingly disappointing playoff appearances.

It’s unclear yet as to what Fizdale’s official role as associate general manager will mean for this franchise going forward, but with all of his experience in different roles with the NBA over the years, fans should be patient, as this could turn out to be a fantastic hire.
