Minnesota Timberwolves Summer League schedule released

The NBA Summer League schedule has officially been released. Similar to the 2021 format, the NBA has coordinated a five-game summer league in July 2022. The first four games are scheduled and they will be played through July 15, 2022. After those four games are played, the league will seed the teams and a final fifth game will be played on either July 16 or 17. The two top-seeded teams will play in the championship game on Sunday, July 17, at 2:00 pm CT on ESPN.

While this year’s format is quite similar to that of 2021, a significant difference is that it starts a month sooner. That means that following the 2022 NBA Draft, all 30 NBA teams will be fast-tracking signing players to compete on summer league rosters. All 30 NBA teams will play five games in the summer league, with games played at either the Thomas & Mack Center or the Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada.

Unlike the past Summer League schedule announcement, it will be some time before we have a sense of who will be playing for the Timberwolves. That is due to the fact that the team has yet to draft players. This year, the Timberwolves will be making selections at 19, 40, 48, and 50. Of course, the team will need to round out their Summer League roster with other players, either from the team roster or augmented by auditioning other players.
