Jaylen Brown won’t be complacent on the ongoing consistency struggles of Klay Thompson in this year’s NBA Finals.

The star swingman said in his media availability ahead of Game 3 that they have to be mindful and prepared of Thompson amid his shooting struggles.

“He’s just missing shots,” Brown said of Thompson, via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. “That player, he can get it going at any moment. We’re aware of that. We trying to prepare ourselves to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Facing the Boston Celtics so far for the bid of his fourth NBA title, Thompson has been ice cold from the past few games. Brown and co. have held him to an inconsistent 26 markers on 33 shot attempts. The all-time sniper has been 10-of-33 overall and 4-of-15 from outside the three-point line.

As such, with the series tied at 1 and has shifted to Boston, Brown have acknowledged that they need to enhance their defense in order to prevent Thompson to pop-out shockingly.

“But we’ve got to do a better job, to be honest. Not doing a good enough job on Klay Thompson.”
