Ben Simmons’ camp will work with the Nets on offseason plan

In his post-season meeting with the media, Nets GM Sean Marks explained that an MRI prior to Game 4 of the Nets’ first round series with the Celtics revealed that Ben Simmons not only couldn’t play, but required offseason surgery.

Following his microdiscectomy procedure, Simmons is reportedly feeling much better, and the original recovery timeline is three-to-four months, which should allow Simmons plenty of time to be physically ready for the 2022-23 season, barring any setbacks.

With Simmons, however, being physically capable of playing isn’t necessarily a green light for him to return to the court. There are also mental hurdles for Simmons to overcome, a point raised by Rich Paul in a meeting with Nets executives in April.

According to a report from the New York Post, Simmons’ camp is planning on putting together a plan with the organization to have Simmons ready to play.
