Tobias Harris talks big fight from Sixers, says he was hit in throat

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers showed off some resiliency over the last two games. Returning home down 0-2 to the Miami Heat, they dig deep and they were able to earn a 2-2 split at home.

Tobias Harris was a big reason why the Sixers were able to get the two wins. Although the didn’t have big scoring nights, he was able to produce in other areas and continue to be a big help on the defensive end while also still being a threat on offense.

Of course, it helps that Joel Embiid returned and James Harden had a big night on offense, but Harris and the team’s fight played a big role in the Game 4 win.

“I think when we got going early in the fourth quarter, we were able to get a bunch of stops and get out,” said Harris. “That just led to the energy of the group. We were really able to put them in the bonus early so that helped us out as well. Everybody just came in with huge efforts. James got going, was able to make the 3s, everybody just had an impact on the game which is huge for us in the playoffs so we just gotta keep going.“

What makes it even more impressive for Harris is that he still battled through pain. He was hit in the throat by Heat big man Bam Adebayo and it affected his ability to talk in the postgame press conference.

“I’m alright,” Harris added. “I lost my voice when I got hit in the throat. It hurts right now.”

The Sixers will need to carry this same fight with them when they head back to Miami for Game 5 on Tuesday.
