ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith thinks Celtics will beat Bucks in East semis

For ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, when it comes to who will win the Eastern Conference semifinals series between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, the devil is in the details. For many, it might be easy to look at the Bucks’ 2-1 series lead so far and extrapolate that the defending NBA champs will keep on winning another two games to advance to the 2022 Eastern Conference finals to face the winner of the Miami Heat – Philadelphia 76ers series.

But for Smith, the calculus is a bit more nuanced, given that the Celtics very nearly beat the Bucks in Game 2, with All-Star forward Jayson Tatum needing to have (mostly self-inflicted) his worst playoff game if his NBA career — and even then Boston was milliseconds away from a winning tip-in.
