Jaylin Williams another step closer to make NBA decision

Arkansas sophomore forward Jaylin Williams declared for the NBA draft after the Razorbacks’ season ended in the Elite Eight. But as of yet, he’s yet to hire an agent, leaving open the possibility of a return to Fayetteville for a third season.

Now, Williams will head to one of the final determinants before he has to make a decision: the NBA combine, which will take place from May 16 to 22 in Chicago.

The forward from Fort Smith had a breakout season for Arkansas last year, averaging 10.9 points and 9.8 rebounds. His return for a junior season would all but guarantee Arkansas a Top-10 ranking entering the 2022-23 season. But the season he had made him a priority for the professional ranks, where he was barely a consideration until the breakout.

The Athletic and ESPN both have Williams as top 45 player for the draft on their respective big boards.

Williams has until June 13 to remove his name from the draft should he so choose. The draft itself is June 23.
