Mark Jackson has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next head coach of the Sacramento Kings, sources tell Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report. Jackson is also believed to be favorite candidate of Vivek Ranadive.
Ranadive urged the Kids to consider Jackson for the associate head coaching position in 2020 that went to Alvin Gentry.Β
The Kings are prioritizing head coaching experience and a defensive identity, but Ranadive also is searching for a vocal leader.Β
Jackson is popular among many active players.Β LeBron James and LaMelo Ball are known to have interest in Jackson for the vacancies with their respective teams.Β
Mike Brown is believed to be the preferred candidate within Monte McNair’s front office.
