Zach LaVine To Undergo Offseason Surgery On Knee

Zach LaVine Enters COVID-19 Protocols

Zach LaVine will undergo surgery on his left knee this offseason, a source tells Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

LaVine’s surgery will likely be arthroscopic.

LaVine downplayed the severity of the injury when asked about indicating that the discomfort was at 80 percent or 70 percent of normal when the reality was “more like 50 percent and that’s on a good day.”

LaVine’s maintenance on the knee has been an all-day ordeal and some other players would have been shut down.

The injury to the knee is not considered degenerative and shouldn’t impact LaVine long-term.

LaVine will be a free agent this offseason though he could instead sign an extension before then with the Chicago Bulls. The two sides appear to be on the same page with the direction of the roster.
