Jonathan Kuminga soars for emphatic slam vs. Nuggets in Game 4

Through the first three games of the Golden State Warriors’ opening playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, Jonathan Kuminga played a limited role off the bench in Steve Kerr’s rotation.

With a DNP in Game 3, Kuminga had tallied eight minutes of action in the series heading into Sunday’s Game 4. With the Warriors struggling to complete the series sweep against the Nuggets, Kerr called on Kuminga for a spark off the bench. The 19-year-old delivered.

With the Warriors trailing in the second quarter, Kuminga soared to the basket for a rim-rocking two-handed dunk after a fast break.

Along with his emphatic jam, Kuminga produced a playoff personal-best nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor in 11 minutes off the bench.

Despite Kuminga’s spark, the Warriors lost, 126-121, on Sunday. With the series returning to the Bay Area on Wednesday for Game 5, Kuminga could earn more minutes after the strong performance.
