Cowgirl Basketball Completes Coaching Staff With Taelor Karr

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team has completed its coaching staff with Taelor Karr remaining with the program an assistant coach it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.

“Taelor has always been someone that has impressed me throughout her coaching career. It is clear that she is a rising star.,” Hoyt said.

“She has a special ability to connect with people — a skill which is valuable for our players, recruits, and fan base. I believe her background as a player will translate directly to our player development, something we highly value in Cowgirl basketball. She has an infectious energy and passion for the game and Oklahoma State.”

Karr joined the Cowgirl program for the 2021-22 campaign as an assistant coach.

A native of Paola, Kan., she came to Stillwater after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant coach at Santa Clara. Prior to her time with the Broncos, Karr served as a graduate assistant manager at Oregon.

 

Karr played collegiately for Kelly Graves at Gonzaga for two seasons. She was the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and a first-team all-league selection as a senior in 2012-13. Karr averaged 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals per contest in her final collegiate season. Additionally, she made 69 3-pointers on the year, which ranks fifth all-time in program history for a single season.

During her junior campaign, Karr led the nation in assist-turnover ratio. Her 152 assists that season rank eighth on the school’s all-time single-season chart.

 

She began her collegiate career at Kansas State where she was named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team and was twice named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

Karr played professionally in France for Dunkerque before joining the coaching ranks.
