SPOKANE, Wash.  —  The Maryland women’s basketball team (23-8) will face top-seeded Stanford (30-3) in the NCAA Spokane Regional Semifinal Friday night at 9:30 p.m. ET at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Wash. Friday’s game will be televised on ESPN.

Friday’s can also be heard on Sirius XM channels 137 or 204 or on channel 967 on the Sirius XM app. 

 

No. 2-seeded Texas (28-6) and No. 6-seeded Ohio State (25-6) in the first Regional Semifinal in Spokane Friday at 7 p.m. ET. The winners of Friday’s games will advance to the Elite Eight Sunday.

What’s UP


Including this season, the Terps have earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last 12 seasons. This is Maryland’s 29th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Terps are 50-27 (.649) all-time in the NCAA Tournament. In their 16 appearances under head coach Brenda Frese, the Terrapins are 38-15 (.717). Frese has led the Terrapins to 10 Sweet Sixteens, six Elite Eights, three Final Fours and the 2006 NCAA Championship.
The Terrapins have earned a top-four seed 21 times in their 29 NCAA Tournament appearances and 14 times in head coach Brenda Frese’s 20 postseasons. The Terps are 10-4 in the Sweet Sixteen and 6-3 under Frese.
Most recently, the fourth-seeded Terps cruised past 12th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast, 89-65, Sunday in the NCAA Second Round. Diamond Miller led the way with 24 point and nine rebounds. Angel Reese scored 21 points with nine boards and Ashley Owusu added 21 points.
