Isaiah Thomas will represent the Charlotte Hornets for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Monday that the Hornets intend to sign the two-time All-star following the team’s 106-103 home victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Thomas played for back-to-back 10-day deals with the Hornets before striking a guaranteed contract.

Thomas has been a key spark plug off the bench for the Queen City, helping the squad to reach a five-game winning streak by averaging over 10 points per game. His veteran mindset and still reliable offensive skills continues to enhance Charlotte’s hopes to earn their 2nd postseason slot in six years.

The 33-year-old point man also suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks this season via hardship deals. He also had plenty of breakout performances for Grand Rapids Gold in the G League, notching an average of 41.8 points and 6.5 assists in four games.
