Bryce McGowens declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Fred Hoiberg’s make-or-break 2022-23 season as the head coach of the University of Nebraska men’s basketball team will be much tougher due to the recently announced departure of one of the Husker’s best players. Freshman Bryce McGowens has announced that he will be hiring an agent and entering the 2022 NBA draft. The freshman was one of Nebraska’s top players last season, finishing the year with 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He was named to the Big Ten all-rookie team and third-team All-Big Ten. McGowens was also selected as Big Ten freshman of the week eight different times during the season and finished as a runner-up for the freshman of the year award in the conference. He’s believed to be a potential first-round draft pick and will have a chance to elevate his draft stock at the NBA Draft combine on May 16-22 in Chicago. The official draft lottery will be held on May 17. The NBA Draft will take place on June 23rd from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
