The Platform for POTS: Tiana England’s Story

During the pandemic and right before coming to Florida State, her symptoms worsened.

“I remember I cried to my mom and told her I was afraid if I went to Florida I might die,” England said. “Eventually we agreed that it was my last year and that I would push through it like I had been doing.”

England and her family spent years going to doctors and leaving without any answers. Doctors often told England her symptoms were due to dehydration and anxiety. While struggling to find a diagnosis and in the midst of the pandemic, England lost one of her biggest supporters, her grandfather.

England’s condition kept on worsening, which took her away from the sport that she loves. All of this took a toll not only England’s physical health, but her mental health as well.
