Women's Basketball Falls to Hawai'i at Titan Gym

FULLERTON, Calif.  – Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball fell to Hawai’i, 46-55, Thursday night at Titan Gym. The Titans are now 8-13 and 3-8 in Big West play. 

Lily Wahinekapu and Carolyn Gill led Fullerton on the offensive with 12 points each. Gill went 4-of-6 from the field with seven rebounds, two steals and three blocks. Wahinekapu was 4-of-17 with seven rebounds and five assists. Fujika Nimmo added 10 points off the bench on 4-of-9 shooting. 

The Titans had a discrepancy to battle at the free-throw line as Hawai’i had 29 free throw attempts to Fullerton’s 14. Hawai’i was called for 15 fouls in the game while the Titans were called for 25.   

After falling behind early, the Titans went on a 10-4 run at the end of the first quarter and into the second to take a 19-13 lead. Fullerton went into the locker room at halftime with a one point lead, 24-23.
