NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Smith College basketball team continues to earn national recognition as the Pioneers were ranked No. 23 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, it was announced by the organization.
After starting the season at No. 23, Smith reached its highest ranking last week coming in at No. 20.
Smith remains undefeated in the NEWMAC at 6-0 and has won 13 of the last 14 games.
Last week, Smith collected a pair of wins against Wheaton College and Coast Guard Academy after suffering a 78-69 loss to No. 8 Tufts University.
Smith looks to knock off its first ranked opponent this season when No. 14 Springfield comes to Ainsworth Gymnasium Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
