Washington Drops Road Contest To Colorado



BOULDER, Colo. – The Washington women’s basketball team wrapped up its weekend road trip on Sunday against Colorado.

The Huskies led after the first quarter and were tied at halftime but would ultimately fall by a score of 66-43.

Washington opened the game with a balanced offensive effort that saw five different players score its first five field goals. It was Nancy Mulkey who opened the scoring with a jumpshot.

Darcy Rees and Alexis Whitfield would give the Huskies production off the bench, with eachΒ ofΒ them scoring a layup to help UW grab a 15-13 lead after 10 minutes of play.Β 

Mulkey got right back to work in the second quarter, scoring UW’s first points of the period with a layup and adding a free throw. With 14 seconds left, Haley Van Dyke would sink two free throws to tie the game at 23-23 heading into…
