Smith Basketball Receives Top 25 National Ranking

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – With a 15-2 overall record, the Smith College basketball team returned to the national spotlight when the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3Hoops.com released their weekly rankings yesterday. 

In the latest WBCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll, Smith jumped to No. 20 and received a No. 25 ranking in the D3hoops.com national poll. 

Smith has consistently been receiving votes in the previous WBCA and D3hoops.com polls throughout the season. The Pioneers began the year ranked No. 23 and fell out of the national rankings after a loss to No. 13 Bowdoin on November 20, 2021. Since then, Smith had won 11-straight until its narrow loss to No. 7 Tufts this past Monday.
