Ayo Dosunmu gained the trust of Chicago Bulls coaches and players fast, and the love of the his hometown fanbase faster.

Now, he’s starting to draw praise from high places. After being selected as one of 12 rookies to the 2022 Rising Stars roster, TNT analyst and future Hall-of-Famer Dwyane Wade — who, like Dosunmu, is a Chicago native — shared some lofty impressions of the first-year guard.

“I felt that he fell low in the draft, and he got his opportunity to play with his hometown team,” Wade said. “To watch this kid play… He knows how to play the game of basketball. He can come in right away. He can take charges. He can defend the other team’s best player. Some nights you see him scoring in the 20s.”
