CAA-Leading Drexel Outlast the Tribe in Double OT

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – For the fourth time in the last five years, William & Mary women’s basketball battled into overtime with perineal Colonial Athletic Association power Drexel.
 
In a back-and-forth, entertaining 50 minutes on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena, Keishana Washington scored 13 of her career-high 40 in the second overtime to out dual the Tribe’s guard combo of Riley Casey and Sydney Wagner as the reigning league champion Dragons (16-2, 8-0 CAA) outlasted W&M, 75-67, in double overtime.
 
Casey (24) and Wagner (20) combined for 44 points to lead the way for the Tribe (6-12, 1-6 CAA) with each making big plays down the stretch to extend the game.
 
Drexel led by as many as 10 points, 35-25, following a Hannah Nihill leaner midway through the third period. The Tribe would not go quietly, using a 6-0 run, highlighted by a Kate Sramac 3-pointer, in a third quarter to close the gap.
