Ta’Niya Latson Becomes 12th McDonald’s All-American at Florida State

Currently, FSU has four McDonald’s All-Americans on its current roster in Puisis (2019), Baldwin (2019), Izabela Nicoletti (2018) and Valencia Myers (2018). The Seminoles had back-to-back years of multiple McDonald’s All-Americans in 2018 and 2019.

In addition to Latson, FSU’s McDonald’s All-American list includes transfers Morgan Jones (2011), Chatrice White (2014) and Kiah Gillespie (2017). FSU’s McDonald’s All-American players that attended FSU directly out of high school include Shante Williams (2003), Natasha Howard (2010), Kai James (2013) and Shakayla Thomas (2014) along with Myers, Nicoletti, Puisis, Baldwin and soon-to-be Latson.

Just a few weeks ago, Latson was named a McDonald’s All-American midseason nominee and a Naismith midseason nominee as well. She was one of 25 selections to the 2022 Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Girls Midseason Team.

Latson has guided American Heritage to an 18-4 record so far and a No. 6 ranking in the state…
