The San Jose State Spartans have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the UNLV Rebels and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 11 of 2017. The Spartans and UNLV will face off in a Mountain West battle at 9 p.m. ET Monday at Provident Credit Union Event Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
SJSU was pulverized by the Colorado State Rams 78-42 this past Saturday. One thing holding SJSU back was the mediocre play of guard Trey Smith, who did not have his best game: he played for 34 minutes but put up just three points on 1-for-12 shooting.
